The casting  flanges include cast steel flanges and cast iron/ductile iron flanges.  These type of casting flanges are mainly used onto low pressure servcies. Cast iron flanges are often connected with water pipes by NPT  threads. Cast steel flanges are mainly plate type, lap joint type flanges.
